SBS rubber is the full name for styrene-butadiene-styrene - Styrene Block Copolymer (SBS), a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) that combines the high elasticity of rubber with the thermoplastic processing properties of plastics. It can be moulded via injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding and other processes without vulcanisation, making it one of the most widely produced and applied thermoplastic elastomers today.

Basic Characteristics:

(1) Integrates rubber elasticity and plastic thermoplastic processability, moldable without vulcanization and recyclable.
(2) High flexibility with elongation rate ranging from 400% to 800%.
(3) Excellent compatibility with PS, PP and asphalt, ideal for modification and compounding.
(4) Lightweight (density 0.91–0.95g/cm³), good weather resistance and low VOC emissions.
(5) Widely applied in asphalt modification, shoe soles, adhesives and plastic toughening.

Product Application

1.Asphalt Modification:Acts as a core modifier for high-grade highway and airport runway asphalt, improving the mixture's anti-rutting, anti-cracking and water-resistant performance, extending pavement service life by 2–3 times and adapting to extreme temperature variations.
2.Shoe Manufacturing:Used to produce lightweight, wear-resistant and elastic soles for sports shoes and casual shoes, combining comfort and durability, and can be processed into various sole styles via injection molding without vulcanization.
3.Plastic Toughening:Highly compatible with PS, PP and other plastics, effectively enhancing their impact resistance and toughness, widely applied in modified plastic parts for home appliance shells, automotive interior trims and electronic component housings.
4.Adhesives & Sealants:Serves as a raw material for hot melt adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives, with strong bonding strength, suitable for packaging, label bonding, building sealing and electronic component fixing, meeting low-VOC environmental standards.
